[August 25-28, 2013] TICOON on ESB 2013 in Patras

This year we were guests at the University of Patras, Greece, for the 19th European Society of Biomechanics congress. Alongside research focusing on biomedical engineering sciences, also numerous projects with a clear link to clinical practice were proposed. Like for instance the MOBILAB projects A-Footprint, TICOON, APPLODYNSCA and ACTOR were presented to the scientific world with an oral presentation by respectively Luiza Muraru, Ingrid Knippels, Tom Saey and Lore Van de Perre. [May 24, 2013] Measurement of first subject

Our first subject was measured at the end of May 2013.  On the picture, you can see how the pressure sensors are applied on the body.  Everything went well.

[October 12, 2012] Networking Event – MOBILAB Introduces New Projects

MOBILAB introduced three new projects (TICOON – FOOTyWEAR – ARTHE) to the Flemish SME’s and possible partners.  During a lunch meeting, the contents and progress of the projects were presented. Inge Arents (IWT) explained the role of user groups in TETRA and CORNET research projects. The conditions for the participation in projects were also set forth.  After the presentations, everybody had the opportunity to network during a reception and for those who wanted, there was a possibility to visit the MOBILAB gait lab and the robotic gait simulator.

[October 1, 2012] MOBILAB’s Robotic Gait Simulator Draws the Attention of Motion Control

Motion Control, the professional journal for factory and process automation, has focused in its October 2012 edition (Nr. 81) on the robotic gait simulator developed by MOBILAB for the OVERAS II project.

[September 2012] Three New TETRA Research Projects Approved

We are pleased to inform you that 3 TETRA research projects of MOBILAB were approved by IWT: TICOON, FOOTyWEAR and ARTHE.  In addition, ARTHE and FOOTyWEAR are part of the CORNET research program with partners in Germany and Poland respectively.

The subjects of the new research projects are:

  • TICOON: Development of an optimization tool for individual configuration and alignment of lower leg prostheses.
  • FOOTyWEAR: Innovating footwear design based on biomechanical and physiological parameters.
  • ARTHE: Active smart wearable orthosis using painted EMG electrodes for home based therapy with augmentative feedback.
